Moutainbike Nyhyttan

A new activity started here in Nyhyttan, MOUNTAINBIKE!

I started building MTB-tracks, here in Nyhyttan because i love to ride MTB.

 When I started I was about 50 years old and now I keep wondering why I didn't start earlier.

Riding through the forest and gravel paths gives me a sence of freedom, is exciting and challenging.

Another big advantage is that my condition has improved a lot.

So! You're welcome to come and give it a try and enjoy all the potentials the surroundings offers.

How it all started ........

I am since 2016 active as a mountainbiker but started (like everybody else) with the easy tracks. We are fortunate to live directly bordering the forest wich makes it so easy to take the bike and go for a ride. In the beginning I often drove the car to Hjulsjö where a lot of tracks are located and joined also their MTB club.

Our friends son also wanted to try out mountainbiking and he was sold right away and bought himself a MTB bike.

My wife likes to hike which we often do. We have here in Nyhyttan multiple hikingtrails through the forrest and I started wondering if it would be possible to bicycle on them. Together with my cycle buddy we tried it out and the result was what I was hoping for. YES, hikingtrails can be used (or prepared) as MTB tracks.

After our findings me, my cycle buddy, a verry good friend and even my wife went out exploring and prepaired, maintained and developed already existing paths/tracks. We have now 3 tracks ready. A lot of work has been done and the results are super.

We are working on a 4th track right here in Nyhyttan and the goal is to have this one ready before the next MTB seizoen. Nyhyttan is located between Nora and Hjulsjö there you also can ride MTB. Hjulsjö has 12 MTB-tracks in different difficulty levels. In Pershyttan/Nora they have 220 km of MTB tracks. Our apartement has therefore a great central position.

There are a few unregistered routes in Nyhyttan surroundings in which I gladly will guide you. These routes are often a combined tour on gravel and trackway. I can also compose a tour outgoing from your wishes whereby you can think of tour length, difficulty and type of path, or just gravel.

The idea is to compose MTB packages but right now the development of the tracks has our priority. We do have 3 MTB bikes for rental and have contacts with the Hjulsjö MTB-club to ensure the amount and sizes of bikes necessary.
